L. Logan was raised in Flint, Michigan, where his journey began. With 25 years of experience in benefits administration management and auditing, he held various leadership roles, including Vice President.

After stepping away from the corporate world, he began considering what he wanted the next chapter of his life to look like. That question led him to examine the life he had already lived.

That reflection became NOW YOU HAVE BOTH: What Strength Couldn’t Solve, his debut memoir, which explores family, identity, ambition, relationships, and the complicated distance between outward success and personal fulfillment.

Outside of writing, Logan is an avid sports fan who enjoys weightlifting and playing racquetball. He also enjoys creating abstract paintings.

He lives in Baltimore, Maryland.‍ ‍

About L. Logan

Author portrait of L. Logan, wearing a light-colored sweater, with short dark hair and a neatly trimmed beard.

After stepping away from the corporate world, I started asking what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like. I couldn't answer that without understanding where I'd come from.

Around that time, I came out to a group of high school friends I had kept at a distance for years. What struck me wasn't only that they hadn't known I was gay. It was how little they knew about my life even when we were growing up together. They had no idea what was happening on Jamieson Street.

That showed me how long I'd been deciding what people were allowed to see. The concealment didn't begin with my sexuality, and it didn't end when I became comfortable with who I was. I didn't want to keep living that way. I was ready to rip the curtain down.
